Opala is honored to be selected for the Microsoft for Startups Pegasus program!

Opala’s selection into the Microsoft for Startups Pegasus Program is more than a milestone.  It’s a signal that healthcare interoperability is entering a new phase.

What is the Pegasus Program?

The Microsoft for Startups Pegasus Program is an exclusive, invite-only two-year initiative designed to accelerate the delivery of a startup’s high-potential B2B products to Microsoft’s global customer network.

Pegasus recognizes companies that have moved beyond pilots to deliver real-world impact at scale, and Opala was selected for exactly that reason: we are actively connecting payers, providers, and patients through trusted, standards-based data exchange products. Acceptance into the Pegasus program signals excitement about what Opala has achieved across the healthcare ecosystem and amplifies what’s possible.

What this means for Opala + Microsoft

Since 2023, Microsoft Azure has been Opala’s primary cloud provider. Azure’s enterprise-grade security, compliance capabilities, and shared responsibility model ensure that the sensitive healthcare data of Opala’s customers is protected, while its powerful services ensure that Opala’s platform can continuously evolve and expand to meet customer needs around trust, performance and use-cases.

At a high level, Opala’s collaboration with Microsoft through Pegasus aims to apply Opala’s healthcare domain expertise with Microsoft’s global cloud infrastructure, AI capabilities, and market reach. Specifically, Opala is investing in AI-enabled data mapping, agent-supported workflows, and deeply integrated experiences that connect directly with the tools payers, providers, and patient champions rely on every day.  We’re expanding real-world use solutions from foundational connectivity and regulatory readiness to advanced, real-time data exchange that drives better clinical and operational decisions.

And this is just the beginning…

What this means for Opala Customers and the Interoperability Industry

For Opala’s customers, these investments through Pegasus will accelerate what matters most: faster time to value, deeper interoperability, greater confidence in everyday data exchange, and more opportunity to take action.

Most importantly, the Pegasus program strengthens Opala’s role as a long-term interoperability partner for the healthcare ecosystem. The Opala platform’s use of Azure to deliver secure, flexible, and scalable health data experiences will benefit customers now and for years to come—moving them from fragmented data and manual workflows to connected, intelligent solutions that improve care delivery, reduce administrative friction, and create better healthcare experiences for patients and providers.
